Christingle 2023 by Janice McFarlane

Last Monday was the Christingle Service at the church at RAF Benson. As Harry is a part of the Beavers he was there with the Benson group. First he had to make his Christingle and then off to the service where parents were also invited. The story of the Christingle was told and they were lit up which made Harry look almost angelic. Then traditional carols were sang for a truly wonderful start to the holiday season.

Santa Visit by Tina Fitch

My youngest granddaughter was taken to visit Santa last Saturday and as you can see she really wasnt happy about it!She hated him and cried and wouldnt even look at him hahaIts her first Christmas knowing anything really as she wasnt even born this time last year. With her Birthday approaching fast 23rd December we thought wed share the magic of Christmas by introducing her to the very person that she will associate Christmas with..But nope it wasnt to be this time. Maybe next year she will be more interested. Lets hope so

Festive Post Box Topper by Sue Way

My hubby had a little operation to remove some veins last week, so our walks have been a little different. He couldnt hold the dogs on a lead, and I am not strong enough to hold both of them, so we had to drive to the country park and just let them run. They got very muddy! He was feeling much better by today, so we decided to try a lead walk. I held Sam, who hubby normally holds, as he is a puller! I was very strict with him and he was trying so hard to be good, bless him. Hubby held Billy, who I have trained to be a good on the lead. As we were on our way home I was so happy to see the new post box topper was on. As you can see it is very festive, with Santa on his sleigh being pulled by Rudolf. And children building a snowman. It made me feel very Christmassy. I have added lots of new Christmas money wallets and pinch bags. Perfect for those small gifts, money and gift cards.

Brrrrrr …. by Carol Clarke

It was soooo c c c c cold last weekend that instead of going to cheer on my youngest son and granddaughter who were supposed to be running in a cross country meet in Shipley Park. Instead Paul went on his own, Olivia cancelled … and we had a lovely ( and much warmer!] day! lol Paul and his teammates are on track to take the gold medal in the league, with (I think) one more race to go, and we had a fabby, and much warmer!, time crafting, baking, laughing and playing board games! Lol

21st by Vicki Avcin

Last Friday night we went to dinner to celebrate our grand daughter, Zoe, 21st Birthday. It was just immediate family at this dinner as she had a big bash party with her partners family and friends on Saturday night. The dinner was at Sanctuary Cove which is down on the coast. We got down there just as a big storm was about to hit and didnt quite make it to the restaurant when the rain came down. I had the table centre piece of two number balloons (2 and 1) and trying to hold them out of everyones way as we walked from the carpark to the restaurant was a lot of fun….not. With the wind coming from the storm I was trying to not hit everyone along the way. I think I said Sorry about 30 times and was glad to get inside. On the way out I said to Zoes partner that he could carry them back to the car! Anyway it was a lovely dinner (very posh) and the food was delicious. Was quite a nice backdrop with all the lightning over the harbour as it was like Mother Nature put on a display of flashing lights just for Zoe. Lucky for us the storm had passed on by the time we finished and had to walk back to the car. For those that have been with CUP for many years, this is the little cutie that featured in some of my video tutorials. All grown up now.
