Christmas Lights by Rachael Dunne

This year for his second birthday, our little one got chickenpox! He was feeling very sorry for himself for about a week or so and was right in the thick of it on his special day, the poor little love! Thankfully, he was over the worst in time for our annual trip to Dunham Massey Christmas lights. This has become something of a family tradition of ours. Its a magical walk around historic parkland which has been completely transformed into a winter wonderland with the most imaginative light installations. Just magical!

Thanks for looking at my latest designs. I hope you enjoy making them as much as I enjoyed designing them x

Dashing Through the Rain by Janice McFarlane

Not to look a gift horse (or is that reindeer) in the mouth when my daughters friend asked her to do a local Santa Dash for charity in her local town of Wallingford, she jumped to the challenge. She also topped in my grandson Alfie who is good at running too. She had to quickly purchase a couple of Santa costumes, after all the key words were Santa Dash. Off they went and on arriving there were also a lot of other Santas. The weather wasnt great, in fact it was raining, but that didnt dampen the spirit. Kayleigh and Alfie successfully completed the dash, and were rewarded with a prestigious Santa medal.

Puddle splash! by Sue Way

My husband is finally recovering after surgery on his leg veins. Today, we went for a morning walk at the beach. Instead of letting our two energetic dogs lead us, we drove there and let them run free. They had a great time playing in the sand while we walked on the flat path. On our way back home, we followed the lower path, which was filled with large puddles due to the recent rain and high tides. The dogs enjoyed splashing around in the puddles. It was beautiful to see them so happy. They are delighted that their dad is back to normal and can join us on our walks again. I have added lots of new Christmas money wallets and pinch bags. Perfect for those last-minute small gifts, money and gift cards.

My … by Carol Clarke

… Youngest granddaughter, Olivia aged 11, was competing in the Nottinghamshire Schools cross country competition this week. This was the 3rd of 3 races, which had run over a couple of months, and when all the results were combined to give the result … Olivia had come 1st and won the gold medal!! I was privileged to have been to all of her racing cheering her on too! lol Olivia is definitely a girlie girl and loves her make up and nail polish etc and had been promised by her mum that if she got a medal she would treat her to a trip to the nail salon! Im not sure when that will be but Olivia is soooo excited about it! lol

After ... by Carol Clarke

... last weeks gold medal performance in the Nottinghamshire County Schools cross country race, my youngest granddaughter was featured and congratulated by her teachers in the schools mailer! Olivia only started at this secondary school in September and already she has been supported, encouraged and congratulated by the school a number of times! Next weekend I am again going to be there to support and cheer her on at the next cross country race, where she will be running for her home club, The Mansfield Harriers! Sooooo ... tune in next week for the next installment of this griping saga! lol

Oh Christmas Tree by Vicki Avcin

For the second time in quite a few years we actually have a Christmas Tree up. The tree itself is about 30 years old and was my hubbys before we even met. When the kids were small and up until I married hubby, I would always have a live tree but hated the pine needles falling everywhere so we started using this eternal tree. When we moved and the kids were living down in Brisbane and we were in Bowen and Hervey Bay I never bothered with a big tree and just had a small tree about 18 inches high. Presents had to be posted away and it just didnt seem practical to go all out. But now we are back down living near the kids it seemed right to pull it out again and decorate. This year I didnt decorate it, the grand daughter that is now living with us got to and went through the boxes of Christmas stuff and did it. I think she did a wonderful job and all those presents that used to get posted down to them now sit under the tree. I am actually in a more Christmassy mood this year than in quite a few years. I even have finished my Christmas shopping already too. I just hope the weather is a little cooler on Christmas day as weve been having high 30s temperatures for about 3 weeks now but it is summer here down under so probably wishing for too much!
