I … by Carol Clarke

… was at another cross country meeting last weekend. This time both my son, Paul and granddaughter Olivia were competing! The race 3vent was held at Worksop College and there were a number of different running clubs competing. Olivia ran well in her race, and even though she is one of rhe youngest in her age group she came 6th with a really good time and Paul won his race!

The Santa Express by Janice McFarlane

Well, we are only a few days away from the big day, but as an extra treat Alfie and Harry were treated to a journey on the Santa Express. This year is the first time Alfie no longer believes, he is 11 and just came to that conclusion himself. Obviously he is being very good with Harry who is 6 and obviously still believes. So the whol family went on a fantastic ride on the Santa Express, where they were treated to Hot Chocolate and Cookies, the elves came round and spoke to the Children, then Santa appeared. The children were given gifts and Harry got a cute teddy bear, which he was over the moon with. Santa stopped at each table to talk to the families and posed for selfies. All in all it was a wonderful time, and Harry insisted on teddy going everywhere with him and settling down to watch a Christmas movie at home.

Elf by Patricia Platt

I bought one of those elf on a shelf dolls and thought I would take it into Dialysis and cheer up some folks. But the only ones that were cheered up where my nurse and another one. No one else seemed to notice what this little elf was up to. Oh well. Will give it a try again on Saturday. It is a bit of a sombre place there sometimes. But I think a little laughter sometimes helps.

I have some Valentine Gnome designs this week. Getting ready for February and Valentines day.

Were THAT family again! by Rachael Dunne

So every year, around September time I say to my husband, we need to think about Christmas soon because I dont want to be that family who are panicking at the Trafford Centre the last weekend before Christmas. Before we know it, life has run away with us… again and here we are, THAT family panic buying at the Trafford Centre the week before Christmas! The thing that saved our sanity was our little one being completely mesmerised by the fountain that shoots right up to the ceiling! We took it in turns diving into shops while the other sat with him watching the water shoot into the sky.

Old Decorations by Vicki Avcin

I treasure this door wreath as it was made nearly 30 years ago with my kids. My kids are in their 40s and one is 39 now. It is made out of plastic shopping bags back when they were all the rage replacing paper bags. Things have gone full circle now and plastic bags are being replaced with….guess what…. Paper bags! We shredded the bags and used an old wire coat hanger bent into a circle and tied the shredded plastic around it then added some baubles and tinsel. Tinsel is a bit the worse for wear, well whats left of it and the majority of the baubles were replaced about 10 years ago although there is still a few originals on there. The big red bow at the bottom is showing signs of wear now but still looking okay. I love the fact that being plastic it can be outside and doesnt matter if the rain gets to it (just gives it a wash) so it will be packed away again until next year when it will come out again. Its my tradition now. I would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas. May it be a safe and peaceful time spent with loved ones.

Thanks Sam! by Sue Way

Every day when I am relaxing on the sofa after dinner, my youngest Golden Retriever Sam brings me a gift, so that I will play with him. The other day it was a bunch of socks my son-in-law gave him. I called it Socktimus Prime! It was great to spin it around and throw it across the room for him to run and fetch it back to me. He even knows what it is called now! lol I have added another gift bag for those last minute gifts and check out my cutlery wraps for the festive table.
