Between the Tides by Sue Way

On Saturday hubby and I visited the little seaside town I worked at until a few weeks ago. The town had an Arts Festival, called Between the Tides, with an art trail. With artist displaying their work in many venues around the town. There was also music and activities to join in with, including a sand castle competition, and a teddy bear parachute jump for the children. There was even sand art on the beach, but the tide was in when we were there, so it had disappeared! One artist displayed her art in my old place of work Freddies of Pinewood. They are usually an online business but opened their doors to show what they were all about. They had worked hard to make the shop, which used to be a cafe, look lovely for the public, all done out in 1950s style of course. There was even a fashion shoot going on.

Steaming Ahead by Janice McFarlane

Last week my daughter went as a parent helper with RAF Benson school to Didcot Railway centre in Oxfordshire. It is a museum and preservation engineering site. Today the Great Western Society have developed the site, which still retains many of the original Great Western Railway buildings and features, as both a working steam locomotive and railway museum, engineering maintenance centre, and railway line offering short rides to visitors. The day was sunny thankfully and the children enjoyed the experience. Of course my daughter had to have a little ride in the drivers cabin.

… have had more lovely cuddles and playtime with my great grandson Noah! Im absolutely sure (well nearly! lol) that it wasnt wind but that he gave me a wonderful smile! lol Hes such a wonderful cutie I cant get too much time with him … but … unlike with my six grandchildren when they were small, I am happy to have short and sweet visits! lol

This week will be the year anniversary of losing my little sister.I cant believe a year has passed already, Im still so sad and I miss her every day, we used to chat daily and its true you never know pain until the person you need to speak too is in heaven.As kids we fought like crazy LOL. But as you grow up its funny how close you become. Sorry to be sad. Im not normally sad with my news but this week is slightly different Im sure shes looking down and laughing at me for being sad. She wasnt an emotional person she kept them well hidden not like me. A blubbering mess sometimes hahaOh well thats all from me this week. Take care

Birthday Boy by Vicki Avcin

A couple of weeks ago it was our Grandsons 9th Birthday. Every year his party is themed to whatever he is interested in that year. No guessing needed looking at the photos….this year it is Minecraft. Everything was with a Minecraft theme and of course I made his card to fit right in!. He had his party at the YMCA in one of the rooms there. Was great because it has a full kitchen and great room where we were set up. Lots of games to play both inside and outside so something for everything. The piñata proved to be rather stubborn though but eventually it came open and I dont think Ive ever seen kids scramble so fast to get lollies. Even his cake was a Minecraft design with gooey green custardy filling!! Was a wonderful day and the kids wouldve slept well that night with all the activities they did.
