Hope everyone has had a wonderful Christmas! Weve had a lovely week filled with family and friends with lots of fun and laughter thrown in too! This was our great grandson, Noahs first Christmas and he got sooo many presents they may need a bigger house! lol Amazingly I was sooo much enjoying all the fun I totally forgot to take any photos! Luckily Id taken this photo on Christmas Eve! Its the view out the back of our house, and the sunset was stunningly beautiful!

Well Christmas for another year is done and dusted. I hope everyone had a lovely day. Its been a few years since our family has all been together even though we didnt have our Christmas on Christmas Day. Due to parents having kids that have to be with another parent on the day and having to spread themselves with other family members we decided that wed have our Christmas dinner on the 24th. We all went to our new Tavern for dinner and had our celebration there. After that my daughter and her partner stayed over at our place and along with our grand daughter and her partner that lives with us we got to have Christmas Day breakfast together. So for Christmas lunch there was only us and our grand daughter and her partner. Might have been a little disjointed but it was absolutely wonderful to do the festive thing with them. Hubby spoilt me and I got a new overlocker because mine hasnt been working for years. I cant wait to use it. This week we are babysitting my daughters dog while they go away for a week. I think this has been the best Christmas for quite a few years for us.

…. Weekend I was once again put and an out on the Cross Country League! lol. (Not, as Im sure youll know by now running myself!) but supporting and congratulating my youngest grandchildren once again. This time we were at Worksop College. It was a bitterly cold day with a frosty wind but that didnt stop it from being really competitive. Austin aged 8 ran first. Hes very tall for his age so is often though to to be than he is. He only started running a few months age and he came 17th out of 30 plus starters! We are sooo proud of him and his smile says it all! Olivia is 12 and has been running for a few years now. She has always done well but this season she has really upped her game and has won every individual (as opposed to a relay) race shes entered. This weekend was no exception and again she won by a country mile!

Quick festive sew by Sue Way

Last week, I found myself at a loose end. Everything was ready for Christmas, so I decided to sort through my fabric stash and discovered some fat quarters with a retro Christmas design. I searched online for a pattern to make a tissue box cover. The accompanying video was a bit confusing, so I opted to download the paper pattern instead. Since it was an American pattern, I needed to shorten the length to fit our UK tissue boxes, but I felt much more confident in making those adjustments. It was a quick and simple project that adds a festive touch to my tissue box. Im excited to tackle many more projects in the new year!
