News & Updates from Margaret Swaby
As I have 2 granddaughters who are celebraating their 18th birthdays this year, I have been looking for cards that are a bit special.
Last week I purchased one of Carol Clark's staar card kits for one of them.
Yesterday I spent the day making this kit up and it has turned out so well that I wandered if you would like to see the photographs ( there are 8 in total). Jessica loves anything sparkly and lots of glitz so I really glmmed it up and the results are stunning.
I am attaching a picture of the front cover for you to see. Margaret
Hi Bob Just letting you know that we will be flying home on Friday morning despite the fact that we both have chest infections.
Mine isnt too bad but my husband Dave is really poorly.
It will be quite an ordeal to undertake the journey as he has hardly been outside the door for a week and is sleeping lots and coughing even more, however I am sure that he will feel a lot better as soon as he is in his own home. Thank you for bearing with me regards waiting for me to resume making up my ordered sheets.
Back to work on Saturday I promise. Margaret
My story is that on 26th November we left our home in Spain to go to ENgland for three and a half weeks to visit our 2 sons.
From there we flew to Tenerife to spend Christmas with our daughter and her family.
As they were going on holiday in January we agreed to stay longer than normal to look after the house and pets.
However with having no crafting materials or facilities here I was getting witdrawall symptoms. Our flights home were booked so at the beginning of this month I bought loads of sheets all ready to print them off and make them up as soon as we got home.
Last Friday my husbadn picked up a freebie newspaper and saw the headlines which read " Spanair goes bust and leaves thousands stranded at airports.
We aare amongest the thousands.
We are still waiting to find out if we can get the money back that we paid for the tickets and seats on flights within the next few weeks have risen so much in price that it would cost 3 or 4 times as much as our original tickets.
We have therefore had to book a flight for 2nd March which is only a little more expensive. We are lucky though as we dont have any accommodation problems where many are having to camp at the airport as they have nowhere else to go.
To anyone whos sheets I have purchased I apologise for hanging onto them for so long. I really cant wait to get back onto my cardmaking and scrabooking when I do eventually get home. At least, there could be worse places to get stranded!
