I have made these book marks to add into my Christmas Cards for a few of my friends who are library book borrowers, and these 2 are my favourite colours.
I used the sheet provided to copy twice, onto 80gsm white copy paper at the recommended size, and then cut each pair out carefully, before attaching them to 250gsm scrap cardboard.
I had prepared the cardboard by lying it flat onto my craft mat, and covering it with a quick drying clear craft glue, using the fine nozzle to spread the glue evenly and then lying the printed book mark print on top of the flat glued surface This avoids any wrinkles and bubbles.
I repeated this until all 10 pieces were glued and dry before then adding the glue to, the wrong side of, one of each pair of book marks and matching the unglued one on top.
I squeezed the edges to be sure they were well covered with glue.
I set them aside to dry completely before coating each one with matte mod podge, and allowing one side to dry completely before using the same treatment on the other side.
I have finished them off by punching a hole with my single punch and giving each one a different finish using embroidery floss and paper beads for 4 of them and the other one using several paper beads and elastic string with silver clamps to hold the beads firm.
I am so thrilled with such an easy project to be able to make and give as gifts. Pamela Horton. The Whispering Platypus.
