I printed the pattern and selected a book with the correct height and number of pages required. Next I marked all the pages with the measurements indicated.

With this combi fold, the first and last marks on each page are folded to the top and bottom at the 90 degree position.

The other marks are all cut in to a depth of about 1.5cm. Next I used a template that guided me to fold the alternating tabs to a depth of 1cm. Whilst this pattern took me awhile to complete, the end result is well worth it!

Depending on the look you prefer, you can tie some string or ribbon around the finished book to hold the pages in a little, or as shown in my last photo, let it sit freely for a wider butterfly.
