Vintage Journal Kit, with free backing papersCompleted by Lisa Ann Lee
OccasionWow! Definitely one of my favorites and so easy to make! I will say that when I bought the file, the free bonus backgrounds were not there but that was a quick fix as the designer responded very quickly to my query. Also, I have never bound a journal before using rings, but I really do like the results on this, it's going to be very user-friendly.
I used 12 sheets of regular cardstock to print the covers and dividers (I printed 5 of these) and tabs/pockets/background pages. While making the covers, I decided to add tagboard for sturdiness. Then, using regular copy paper, I printed the Notes, Reminders, To-Dos, and Contacts (15 pages each so 30 when folded). I printed 25 of the Journal page (50 pages when folded.)(If I had larger rings I would have printed more.)
While constructing, I decided to leave the divider pages open at the tops, to make large pockets. Then I cut the To-Dos down in half and attached each stack with a staple to the front and back of a background page so that they could easily be torn out and used. For 2 bookmarks I added tassels and on the round pieces I sandwiched in paper clips. Finally, so as not to waste, I took the left-over pieces from the to-do sheets and used a round die to cut and put together a small scrap paper notebook. I positioned the included small corner pockets in a way that they will hold business cards on 1 background sheet. Then I finished up just using my handheld little hole punch, lining up my pages, and inserting the round book binding clips.
