Whether you're just fed up of your plain, boring belt or just want something a bit different, decorating your own belt can be fun and will result in a unique item to jazz up any outfit.
Steps
-
Find or buy a plain belt you can decorate.
-
Plan out how you want your belt to look and decide what materials you will use to decorate it. Avoid using anything that will fall off easily and don't go too close to the buckle holes (if your belt has them) as the buckle will probably damage the decoration. You can use paint, fabric, permanent markers, studs, rhinestones, buttons, chains and much more to decorate your belt, so let your creativity run wild.
- If your belt will have letters or pictures on it make sure you know which way round you wear your belt before planning the design. You don't want to end up with an upside down belt!
- Paint/draw the designs onto your belt. Mark on any places you are going to stick something and leave the belt to dry (if painting) before sticking anything to it.
- Stick any extra parts onto the belt using a strong glue. If you can, it is usually better to use decorations that will push through the belt material and secure with metal tabs, as they can't be knocked off.
