Button pins are really pretty, inexpensive, and fun to make. Wear it to church on Sunday, to the Christmas party next Saturday, and to your daughter's piano recital on Wednesday.

Steps

  1. Choose buttons. I like to choose buttons that match or the colors compliment each other.
  2. FOR THE PETALS: If you want alternating colors, choose an EVEN NUMBER of buttons. Arrange them in a circle, alternating colors
  3. FOR THE MIDDLE: Choose a BIG button. I like mine matching the petals. Anyways, place the big button over the circle of petal buttons. Make sure you can see the petals poking out.
  4. LAYERED MIDDLE: Find a button somewhat smaller than the big button that is the middle. Place it on top of the big button. Do the same for each additional layer.
  5. Glue all the buttons together.
  6. First, flip over the big center button. Using hot glue, glue the petals to the center. Then flip it back over. Use hot glue again, but this time to add the center layers. Now you have your flower.
  7. Make it a pin.
  8. Using craft foam, cut out a circle about the size of the big center button. Glue it to the back of the flower.
  9. Then take the safety pin. Open it. On the side that doesn't open, lather it with hot glue. Place it on the middle of the craft foam circle. Then place A LOT of clue on either side of the pin, and on top of the side that doesn't close. Let it dry. If needed, add more glue until the pin sticks.
  10. Finished.
