Make a Fairy House in the Woods

Are you an aspiring architect? Do you want to find a way to show your talent and natural side? Then you have come to the right place! This article will show you how to make a mini "fairy" house, out of all natural material. Everything you need is right outside!

Steps

  1. Find a small area with slightly damp dirt. To tell if the dirt is good enough, stick a twig in the dirt and check if it stays standing. The area should be at least 1 square foot, but it can be as big as you want.
  2. Collect many twigs and sticks. Depending on the size of house you plan to build, they should be about 3 inches long. Make sure that the sticks you collect are not too thick, in case you need to break them.
  3. Using the sticks, create either a square formation, circle formation, or a Teepee formation. These are your foundation pieces, so ensure that you stick the twigs at least half an inch into the dirt.
  4. Build your exterior walls. Use the bigger sticks on the outside to make it sturdier.
  5. Build your roof. You can use either a leaf or a wide strip of bark. If you use a leaf, it may be helpful to stick a thin twig through the leaf and plant it in the dirt, to prevent the leaf from blowing away.
    • If you made a Teepee, you will not require a roof. However, you will want to secure the top with either a long blade of grass, or some twine.
  6. Decorate. Try using pebbles, flowers, leaves, and moss. Make the house authentic. Add a pond, see-saw, slide, mini-garden and flags.

Tips

  • To help keep your house safe, try putting some large rocks and stones around it. This will prevent people from stepping on it.
  • Stick the sticks In the ground and put the sticks about 3 inches apart stick leaves on top of the sticks as a roof.
  • Make it cozy by putting little hand made furniture inside.

Warnings

  • Don't be disappointed if your house collapses after a day or after any type of storm. These houses are not meant to last for more than a week.
