Kraft Paper Corn Stalk is Six Foot Tall

I saw this idea and it is great!

6 ft stalk
 6 ft stalk
  1. I happened to have on hand a 100yard roll of brown kraft paper and used the technique with that. The result looks fantastic and is six foot tall. I will make 30 or so and bind them at the top and flare at the bottom to make tepee shaped corn stands as a fall church decoration. The roll is 24" tall. I got mine at Office Depot on clearance for $3. The label says 40LB Kraft Roll 24 in. x 900 ft. 47002-OD.
  2. 1. To start unroll at least a six foot length of paper.
  3. 2. Make a roll about one and a half to two inches in outer diameter with an inside diameter of at least one inch (two finger widths)
  4. 3. Make at least 11 turns. You can use up to 20 turns- any more and you cannot complete cuts.
  5. 4. Make three eight inch cuts down from the top evenly spaced around the sleeve.

  6. 5. Secure the bottom with glue (Rubber bands should also work) and twist the paper a bit.
  7. 6. Pull the sleeve out from the top.
  8. 7. Spray paint as desired with deep fall colors.-

Tips

  • Be careful not to cut yourself.
  • Try over if your first attempt does not work.
