Do you want to make a center piece that is home made and that kids love? Sand art is the perfectway to decorate!
Steps
-
Buy sugar, food coloring, glass bottles with corks, plastic bowls spoon, and a hot glue gun.
-
Put the sugar into a plastic bowl.
-
Put food coloring in the sugar and mix it with a plastic spoon. Do the same for all the food coloring colors.
-
When all of the food coloring is soaked in the sugar, start kneading it with your hands. Also do this with the different food coloring colors.
-
Put different spoons in all of the bowls.
-
Start filling glass bottles with sugar to the very top, so the colors won't get jumbled together.
-
When all done, put hot glue on the bottom of the cork, and the rim of the top of the glass bottle.
-
Stick the cork in bottle and let it dry for 5 minutes. Caution: The glue will be really hot!
-
Put it on display and have fun!
Tips
- If you want all the colors of the sugar in the bottle to be in a squiggly line, you can use a skewer of some thing like that and go slightly through the sugar.
- If their is a theme of a b-day party or an occasion, you can buy stickers and tape it on the glass bottle.
Warnings
- You could get burned by the hot glue gun so have a parent help!
