You can decorate your own T shirt using these steps, and create a unique flair.

Steps

  1. Get the shirt you would like to use.
Get the shirt you would like to use.
Get the shirt you would like to use. It's best not to use an important shirt, because you may mess it up. Plain shirts are sold at craft stores for small amounts if you don't want to use any shirts you already have.
  2. Design the shirt.
     Design the shirt.
Design the shirt. It is best to do this on a blank piece of paper first. Think of a theme. Punk? Hippie? Hollywood? Do you want it to have glitter? Writing? Patches?
  3. Decorate the shirt.
     Decorate the shirt.
Decorate the shirt. There are many different ways to decorate your shirt. You can add glitter, iron on patches, or write on it with colored sharpies. To iron on the patches, simply get the normal clothing iron you use and follow the instructions on the box/bag included. When using Sharpies, try writing cute and encouraging things on your shirt. Glitter is best to be spread out on the shirt, but using your own style is encouraged. Be yourself and be creative.

Tips

  • It's best to use colored Sharpies on the shirt for writing, since black makes it look plain.
  • When designing, if you don't know what you would like on your shirt, look back to your ideas and decide.
  • Try getting inspiration from shirts you see on the internet or in magazines, but remember, this is your own shirt, so be you!
  • Look around you. Do any of the objects around you give inspiration for your shirt? If so, start working on it!
  • Anyone close to you? Maybe they would like a new T-shirt. Think of what they like, but yet use your own creativity to give them the perfect gift!
  • Holidays just around the corner? Make a T-shirt based on the holiday(s) coming up!
  • Make sure to put the caps back on the sharpies and not let them dry out.
  • Everyone has a favorite candy or food or drink. If you don't have any ideas you like, base your custom T-shirt on any logo you choose to make on your shirt!

Warnings

  • When using Sharpie, be absolutely careful with what you would like to write, for it is permanent.
  • If you make a mistake with glitter glue/glitter, wash it out right away to avoid having it dry out.
  • Your shirt may not come out the way you designed it, so take your time, you're in no rush.
  • When using and fabric paint, maker, or Sharpie, make sure you are not around any food or drinks, for this can mess up your T-shirt, and you will have to start over.
  • Use lots of space, for if you don't, you could bump into something around you and it could screw up your design!
