Steps
-
Design the letters with a pencil. You may want to make a sample and practice on a piece of scratch paper. Be sure to draw lightly, just enough for you to be able to see your letter.
-
Apply glue over the pencil letters. Cover all of the pencil lines. You may want to use a small paint brush to apply the glue evenly and not with any blobs of glue.
-
Apply the glitter. If you are using a dust, than you will want to apply more than you will need, for the glue must fully covered.
-
Allow the glue to dry.
-
Shake the excess glitter dust off of the letters. You should be left with clean-edged letters and no extra dust on your paper. Your glue and pencil marks should not be seen.
Tips
- A small paintbrush works well for applying the glue evenly.
- You can use this method to make other things beside letters. You could make hearts, leaves, stars, and more!
- Make sure the letters look the way you want in pencil before applying glue.
- Do not use an overload of glue.
- Use plenty of glitter, excess is okay!
Warnings
- Handle the letters VERY CAREFULLY! They are very delicate.
- It will take at least one night for the glitter to fully dry. Do not try touching it before that time. It will ruin the letters.
- Do not use big blobs of glitter.
- Plan your work out carefully and do not "wing it".
- Take your time with this project. If you rush, you will end up with a huge mess.
