These decorative and sparkling letter are easy to make, and are a great touch to your room, posters, and dull school supplies.

Steps

  1. Design the letters with a pencil. You may want to make a sample and practice on a piece of scratch paper. Be sure to draw lightly, just enough for you to be able to see your letter.
  2. Apply glue over the pencil letters. Cover all of the pencil lines. You may want to use a small paint brush to apply the glue evenly and not with any blobs of glue.
  3. Apply the glitter. If you are using a dust, than you will want to apply more than you will need, for the glue must fully covered.
  4. Allow the glue to dry.
  5. Shake the excess glitter dust off of the letters. You should be left with clean-edged letters and no extra dust on your paper. Your glue and pencil marks should not be seen.

Tips

  • A small paintbrush works well for applying the glue evenly.
  • You can use this method to make other things beside letters. You could make hearts, leaves, stars, and more!
  • Make sure the letters look the way you want in pencil before applying glue.
  • Do not use an overload of glue.
  • Use plenty of glitter, excess is okay!

Warnings

  • Handle the letters VERY CAREFULLY! They are very delicate.
  • It will take at least one night for the glitter to fully dry. Do not try touching it before that time. It will ruin the letters.
  • Do not use big blobs of glitter.
  • Plan your work out carefully and do not "wing it".
  • Take your time with this project. If you rush, you will end up with a huge mess.
