A toy hot air balloon is a fun and easy craft to make with younger children or when demonstrating the properties of air in a science class for junior students.
Steps
-
Assemble the items needed to complete this project. See "Things You'll Need" below.
-
If you're filling the balloon with helium yourself, do so. Otherwise, purchase one already filled.
-
Attach the two strings to the balloon. Attach at the end at which you knotted the balloon closed, and then tie one above the other to guarantee a secure fit.
-
Take the tiny basket and tie the ends of the strings to it. Remember, this basket must have handles or it won't work!
-
Release the balloon and watch it float up into the air.
Tips
- Don't take this outside unless you want it to float away. Obey all laws with respect to littering.
