How to Make an Ocean in a Bottle

Kids love to explore different scenes and objects. This neat project will amuse them for a long time.

1. Get a small 12 ounce plastic bottle. Make sure that it's fully cleaned or rinsed.
   
   
2. Fill half of the bottle with clear non-toxic oil, such as a light canola oil.
   
   
3. Fill the remaining half with water.
   
   
4. Add food coloring, glitter, small lightweight plastic items, and confetti shaped like your child's favorite animal or shape.
   
   
5. Recap the bottle tightly.
   
   
6. Let your child play with them to their heart's content.
   
   

• To make more space in the bottle for items, lessen the amount of water and oil in the bottle.
