Simple to make and fun to play with during the hot summer days, older kids or their parents, can make homemade Bubble Soap. The following craft idea was shared by Terry Van Kirk in the Bakery Shoppe Memories cookbook. Remember not to eat the soap as this is not a recipe.

Steps

  1. Pour listed ingredients into a large unbreakable bottle.
  2. Seal bottle with cap and shake to combine.
  3. Use suggested bubble blowers to make soap bubbles.
  4. Finished.

Warnings

  • Do not eat the soap. This is for playing not eating.
  • Supervise young children when playing with the homemade bubble soap.

Things You'll Need

  • 1/3 cup baby shampoo or dish soap (not dishwasher detergent)
  • 1 1/4 cups water
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 or 2 drops food coloring
  • Plastic straws, pipe cleaners formed into loops, strawberry baskets or spoons with holes in them.
