Ever wanted to have beautiful faeries buzzing around your house? If so, this article explains how to easily make a house for a faerie from a shoebox.
Steps
-
Take two shoe boxes (one smaller than the other) and one lid.
-
Cut the part of the lid that holds it to the box off.
-
Stick the lid into one of the boxes.
-
Put the smaller box under the lid.
-
Add decorations as needed. Put in a piece of old carpet for the floor if you have some.
-
Make furniture from twigs and clay.Or you could use dolls house furniture. Do not use too many man-made things.
- Make a comfy bed from cloth or leaves. You want your faerie to be comfy!
-
Watch the faeries come. Do not be impatient. Remember, faeries don't often want to reveal themselves.
Tips
- Use mostly natural things for furniture.
- Leave honey or small sweets or chocolates in the house.
- Leave stuff like thimbles and rubber bands in the house.
- You could also build your house for toy figure faeries, or any of your favourite dolls or figures. If you are feeling really creative, you could use plastic ice cream spoons, put faces on them (small stickers for eyes and felt tip pen for an optional mouth), make them clothes from leaves or cloth and really bring your unique, home-made characters to life.
Warnings
- Don't use rotting twigs - faeries hate rotting twigs.
- Don't be grumpy. If you are, it will attract grumpy faeries.
- Don't leave big piles of human junk. Just put in 1 or 2 man-made things at a time.
