For a thick scarf in winter, this is best. Use 8ply baby wool for the best results, but it really doesn't matter that much. This is quite a long project, so be sure that you can set aside the time to complete it.

Note: sc = single crochet hdc = half double crochet dc = double crochet

Steps

  1. Ch 45.
  2. Ch 2.
  3. Hdc in every st. Turn.
  4. Repeat 19 times. You have 20 rows of hdc.
  5. Ch 3.
  6. Dc in every st. Turn.
  7. Repeat last step.
  8. Ch 1.
  9. Sc in every st. Turn.
  10. Repeat last step.
  11. Dc in every st. Turn.
  12. Repeat last step.
  13. Continue as written unit l you have the desired length.
  14. Hdc the last 20 rows.
  15. Fasten off and weave in the ends.

Tips

  • You can Hdc all the way through for a plainer scarf.
