Steps

Begin your crochet work. Work until you need to make your slip stitch.

Insert your hook into the indicated loop(s) or space.

Put yarn over your hook. Make sure it is not too tight.

Pull your hook into both loops on your hook. One crochet slip stitch created.
Tips
- Slip stitches are very versatile. You can use them to join rounds, or as a very short stitch for shaping.
- It is very common to make slip stitches too tight. Make them looser than you think they should be for consistency in your crochet work. You may even want to switch to a larger hook, just for your slip stitches.
