Crochet Stitches are different in U.S and British Terminology

Steps

U.S Terminology

  1. Single Crochet(sc): place hook in work and pull up a loop, yarn over and pull through both loops
  2. Half-Double crochet(hdc) : yarn over, place hook in work and pull up a loop, yarn over and pull through all three loops
  3. Double Crochet(dc): yarn over, place hook in work and pull up a loop, yarn over and pull through first two loops only, yarn over and pull through the remaining two loops
  4. Treble crochet(tr):yarn over twice, place hook in work and pull up a loop, yarn over and pull through first two loops, yarn over and pull through next two loops, yarn over and pull through last two loops.
  5. Double Treble crochet(dtr): yarn over three times, place hook in work and pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through the first two loops, yarn over,pull through the next two loops, yarn over, pull through two loops, yarn over, and pull through the last two loops.

U.K Terminology

  1. Double crochet(dc):same as U.S sc
  2. Treble crochet(tr): same as U.S dc
  3. Double treble crochet (dtr) : same as U.S tr
