Steps

Cast on 9 stitches.
- Knit stockinette stitch for about 8 inches. End on knit stitch.
- Cast off in purl stitch and cut your yarn about six inches.
- Thread a yarn needle and stitch up your sides, leaving a two inch overlap for the flap.

Thread a needle, this time a sewing needle. Sew on a button to the part under the flap, so that it comes through one of the stitches. You're done!
