Reusing wool or yarn from old projects is a great way to participate in frugal living and Eco-conscious reuse solutions. Used wool often has kinks that need straightening out and this is simple to do following these instructions.
Steps
-
Unravel the used wool from wherever you are obtaining it.
- Wind it around the stiff piece of cardboard.
- Secure the wool with a staple, tape, or similar item, to the cardboard.
- Immerse the entire cardboard and wound wool into hot, soapy water.
- Wash the wool thoroughly.
- Rinse. Hang out to dry on the clothesline.
-
Remove the dry wool. Once dried, the wool can be unwound and you will find that it is ready for re-winding and use.
Things You'll Need
- Piece of cardboard approximately 30cm/12" square
- Used wool
- Hot, soapy water
