This is very simple and fun to do. It also allows you not to frown every time you head into class with a bland black and white notebook. Shake things up!
Steps

Get a plain notebook. Whatever type of required book will do (just not those pricey text books).

Gather some colorful magazines that you're finished reading. You can also get some pictures of you and friends if you'd like.

Cut out letters that can spell out your name on the front. This allows you to identify your book if ever lost, stolen, or mixed in with the crowds'.

Cut out whatever else you want on the notebook. This can include sayings, pictures, letters, numbers, etc.

Tape the pictures(etc.) on to the notebook in whatever location is desired.

If you like you can protect the cover by covering it with clear packing tape.
Tips
- Try placing things that you will tape down ahead of time. This will help you get an idea of what the final piece will look like. It's also a lot less messy. *To make sure the decoration doesn't fall off you can use clear contact paper to put over the cover once you have glued everything on.
