Need a bookmark but don't feel like going shopping to buy one? Want a bookmark that's free, and still cool looking? Here's how to make one.
Steps
-
Get a pencil box. On the middle of the lid there is usually a recessed rectangle with the company's logo on it.
-
Find some markers, and fill the rectangle with whatever you want. Do you want the bookmark completely blue? Or do you want it rainbow-colored?. You can also draw to make the bookmark more interesting.
-
Now that it's colored with marker, find a bottle of wet white glue, like Elmer's glue, that dries clear, and squeeze a little bit of it into the recessed area. Then use your fingers and spread it all around. Make sure you have enough of the glue on there because you don't want your bookmark to be too thin.
-
Wait for the glue to dry, a day or two later. Remove the bookmark from the recessed area. Voilà, a nice, cool, sturdy, and most of all, free bookmark!
-
Finished.
Tips
- Note that the recessed area sometimes has the company's logo on it. If you don't want the logo, find a piece of plastic and place it over the logo, then apply the marker and glue. Peel it off once it's done. Do not use paper because once it is dry and you peel the glue off, some of the paper will stick to it.
- Don't have white glue? A glue stick works just as well, just apply a good layer. Be aware that glue stick bookmarks are a lot weaker and thinner.
