Steps
-
Take a pencil box, and on the lid, there should be a rectangle with their logo, and some depth. You can use anything, of any shape, as long as it has some depth.
-
Cover the bottom and sides of the rectangle (or whatever shape you're using) with colorful markers. Use whatever colors you want! You can also mix colors, too. (Note that it wipes out, as markers never stain plastic.)
-
Squeeze a little bit of glue inside the shape and spread it around with your fingers until its fully coated with white glue. Make sure that there is enough glue on it other wise it will be too thin.
-
Wait until it dries, which will take about a day, maybe even two. (tip: the glue will dry faster if you put it on a window sill on a sunny day) Make sure it is fully dried.
-
Peel it off by using your fingers.
-
Give yourself a pat on the back! You've just made a cool, unique bookmark.
Tips
- Write your name in the glue while it's still wet (use markers you don't want to see again because they will be wrecked).
- You can use cookie cutters to make the bookmarks too! You just need a hard plastic surface.
- Put beads in it before its done drying to give it a cool look.
- For extra effects, put glitter on the glue while it's still wet.
- If your bookmark won't come out, with fingernail or butter knife, set it under some steaming hot water. Afterward, the glue bookmark will be very fragile, wet, and sticky. Set it down on some hard plastic and let it dry.
- Keeping it in the sun does not affect how fast it dries.
- You can buy some knickknacks from the store, you can sometimes use the plastic cover around the item and made a bookmark out of that.
- If you don't want the logo on your bookmark, you can use any shape. As long as it has depth.
Warnings
- Keep it in a safe place! Somebody not aware of this project may take it as garbage and throw it out.
