If you're reading a great book but have to close it in a pinch, be able to make this great bookmark out of just a sheet of notebook paper!

Steps

  1. Cut a strip of notebook paper that's about three inches wide. If you don't have scissors, just crease the paper, lick it, and tear it.
  2. On the very top of the paper, fold each corner in to the center. The top of the bookmark now should be at a point. (If you've ever made a paper airplane, it kind of looks like that).
  3. Take the bottom of the bookmark and fold it up about an inch.
  4. Flip the bookmark around and decorate it all you want.
  5. When using it, put the bottom of your page into the crease at the bottom of the bookmark. The point at the top should stick out of the top of the book so you can spot it easily.
  6. Finished.

Tips

  • Remember: the point of the bookmark is pretty much to have the point at the top stick out. If the book you're reading is too long (not as in the number of pages, but as in the physical length of the cover), just extend the bookmark by grabbing the back part and moving it towards the bottom. Refold the crease.
  • When decorating, it looks really good when you highlight the point at the top. This also help you to find your place faster.

Things You'll Need

  • A piece of notebook paper (it does not matter what size or scrap paper works fine too, if you enjoy recycling).
  • Highlighters, markers, crayons,
