An Art Card, or ACEO (Art Cards Editions and Originals) are miniature pieces of artwork that are the same size as a baseball card (2.5" by 3.5"). They can be quite fun and simple to make. Some ACEO's can sell from anywhere from $1 to $100 or more! So grab your paper and pencils and let's get drawing!
Steps
-
Cut your cardboard or paper into 2.5" x 3.5", if not already done so.
-
Sketch your drawing on the card. You can choose to skip this step and go directly to step #3, but I recommend sketching first.
-
Color or paint your drawing onto the card. This step will vary depending on your choice of medium.
-
Let dry, if you are painting.
-
Seal the finished card with a sealant. Do this especially if you used paint, pastels, or anything else that smudges easily.
Tips
- An art card can be of any medium, theme, etc.
- If you don't plan to sell your ACEOs, you can keep them in a baseball card collector's book for storage.
Warnings
- If you are using paper, do not apply too much pressure, for paper is fragile.
