Making old documents is simple; this is a tried and true method.

Steps

  1. Find a piece of paper (not construction) and make sure it doesn't have any lines.
  2. Get some brown and yellow watercolors. Most brands will work.
  3. Take a cotton ball or a pom-pom and smear the paint across the paper. This may take practice. You can also dip the paper in water, if necessary. This will lighten the color.
  4. Next, gently pat it with a paper towel to dry it out a bit.
  5. Do this in or near a sink. Just in case. Find a lighter and slightly burn the edges. You will want the paper to still be damp when you do this.
  6. Just let it sit and completely dry out. Then you complete your writing. The rest is up to you. Some prefer to leave it like it is, and some prefer to redo all of the steps numerous times. This makes the paper much more worn. Just make sure that you follow with the letter, otherwise your paper will be ruined.

Tips

  • You can also take a candle and place a piece of wet or damp paper above the flame. Place the sheet of paper that you wish to be old above this paper. However, make sure nothing is touching the flame. The steam from the candle will blacken the old paper if you do thiscorrectly.

Warnings

  • Be careful with fire. It is always dangerous.
