Tracing paper is handy for drawing, sewing, crafts and designing projects. This article will show you how to make your own, using a very old-fashioned technique from the 1880s.
Steps
-
Prepare a container large enough to fit the paper.
-
Put some oil in the container
-
Try not crushing the paper
-
Dip the paper into the container with the dissolved mixture.
-
Saturate the paper in this bath and lift out.
-
Lay it down flat on a dry surface such as a table or a see through paper then you quickly clean the extra oil otherwise there will be marks of extra oil.
Tips
- While it is easier to go and buy pre-made tracing paper, this is a fun D-I-Y project to see how it is possible to be self-sustaining and resourceful.
