Spinners are a lot of fun to make at home or at school, especially when you are bored. All you need to make one is paper, scissors, and patience.
Steps
-
Get some printer paper.(it also works with loose leaf notebook paper;D)
-
Fold the piece of paper in half Vertically.
-
Cut down the crease.
-
Fold the two large rectangles in half vertically, so that they become long and skinny.
-
Fold the bottom corner of each rectangle to the right, so that it forms a triangle shape.
-
Repeat at the top, except this time, make sure the triangles are facing left.
-
Put one of the rectangles (it should have the little triangles) facing vertically upward.
-
Put the other rectangle horizontally, facing down in the space between the two triangles on the other rectangle.
-
Fold the bottom triangle to the center, then fold the left triangle to the center, overlapping the one you just folded. With the top triangle, fold to the center also.
-
Fold the right triangle so it overlaps the top triangle and make sure it goes under the bottom triangle.
-
Now that you have finished, you can decorate it if you like!
-
Finished.
Tips
- If you want to make it faster, you can take a pencil and stick it through the center or tape the bottom (clear tape only). Thumb tacks are also great for speed. You may even win.
- You can make them colorful.
- You can draw on them so that they will make cool designs when they spin.
- Teach your friends how to make them so you can battle them and so you keep them.
- This is a really fun activity to do at school or at home.
- To make your spinner look even more cool and you have a printer, print something that you like, like a wrestler, a game, or a movie. It's great to glue the image or tape it.
- If you don't won't to design them, then you can just make them and play with them with your friends. They don't have to have a design although they are much cooler with the design.
- If you don't have scissors you can slide your mouth across the crease and tear it or you can keep folding it until it rips then tear it.
Warnings
- If the ends are pointy, don't throw them at other people.
- When playing with these, make sure you don't get caught by a teacher; you will get in trouble!
- These can be really dangerous so be careful.
- Some schools give detentions for having spinners.
