The waterbomb is a type of origami. You can make one and fill it with water if you don't have a water balloon on hand.

Steps

  1. Get a square piece of paper. (Don't use origami paper, as that would be a waste. Just fold a piece of printer paper diagonally at the top and cut the strip at the end off. You could also use wax paper to hold the water in better. Or you can oil printer paper to make it water resistance. It works both ways!)
  2. Fold the paper in half diagonally and unfold. Repeat the other direction. You will end up with a creased X across your paper.
  3. Flip the paper over and fold in half top to bottom.
  4. Flip the paper over again and press down in the middle, while folding in the flaps on the side. You should get a triangle. For a more detailed explanation see How to Make an Origami Triangle Base.
  5. Take the flaps on the front side and fold up them to the middle. Repeat on the back. You should now have a square.
  6. Fold the side corners to the middle line. This should create little pockets.
  7. Take the flaps above the pockets and push them in.
  8. Repeat the last two steps on the other side.
  9. Blow in the little hole in the bottom to inflate. If you used wax paper, this step is a little difficult, so you may want to stick a straw in the hole.
  10. Go to your sink and fill your waterbomb. Finished.

Warnings

  • Be careful when carrying your waterbomb. The paper is thin because it's wet, and it might break on you if you're not careful.
  • When you fill your waterbomb, don't fill it too much - the paper will rip.

Things You'll Need

  • Square piece of computer paper or wax paper and a crisp piece of paper because it freaking makes all the different.
