You may not be able to make a good sword out of paper , but you can at least make a distinctsamurai helmet. This particular project is modeled after a kabuto helmet, complete with horns representing the animal or mythical entity of your choice.
Steps
-
Position your square piece of paper in the shape of a diamond. Make sure that the colored side is down.
-
Fold it in half.
-
Turn the triangle upside down so the top point is at the bottom.
-
Fold the two upper corners to the bottom point (it should be the shape of a diamond).
-
Fold the first two bottom flaps so their points are at the top of the diamond.
-
Fold the top corners (the ones you just paired with the top of the diamond) and fold them back or outwards.
-
Fold the first bottom flap up about half-way in between the two flaps you folded in the last step.
-
Fold the bottom edge of the previous fold up a little bit.
-
Fold the remaining bottom flap to the back.
-
Squeeze the two edges to open the helmet.
Tips
- If you want a helmet that fits you, use a newspaper.
- Don't be discouraged if it doesn't come out perfectly, just try again.
- For a cleaner look, tuck the last flap inside instead of folding it back.
- Use colorful paper for a more ornate helmet.
