This "abstract" turtle is easy to make from a standard 8 1/2 x 11" sheet of paper. It's an easyorigami project because it doesn't involve anycomplicated folds. Maybe you can make anorigami jumping frog or duct tape turtle to keep it going along!

Steps

  1. Take an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of paper.
  2. Fold your piece of paper in half.
  3. Unfold and turn the paper over so the crease is up.
  4. Take the top left and right corners and fold them towards the center.
  5. Turn the paper over again.
  6. Take the middle left and right corners and fold it towards the center with the bottom flap facing up.
  7. Tuck in the bottom left and right corners to make a straight bottom edge.
  8. Fold the top corner down into half.
  9. Fold the same corner back up in half over itself.
  10. Fold the left and right bottom corners towards the middle.
  11. Fold those same corners in half over themselves.
  12. Flip the project over to see the finished turtle. Try to bend up the crease on the back of the turtle to make it look more real.

Tips

  • If you choose, use green construction paper.
  • Use thin paper as it is much harder when you use thick ones.
  • Try to bend up the crease on the back of the turtle to make it look more real.
  • Use the side of your thumbnail to flatten down every crease.
