A birthday party or any other party would almost be incomplete without using crepe paper streamers for decoration. You can use them to the extent of hanging across the ceiling or forming a bow out of streamers for corners or the walls. You can achieve this by following a few steps:
Steps
-
Decide on what size bow you intend to use. The streamer bows used to hang on walls and ceilings of a party room are larger when compared to those put on chairs or decorations that are of close visibility.
-
While trying to make a bow, cut a length of streamer about six times longer than the maximum width of the bow. By doing so, you will attain a multi-loop streamer bow, known for being compatible for larger sizes and grand decorations. If you are planning on making a simple two-loop bow, it will require much less streamer. However, it is considered unattractive and much smaller in size.
-
The streamer you cut needs to be folded into half at its center point. On a surface flat in front of you, you will need to lay the center. You then need to fold the cut streamer's long ends across the center point eventually crossing at the center point.
-
Until you get as many loops as you want on either of the streamer's center side, you must continue the loop making process. The size of the loops can either be the same or you can steadily decrease the size as you start to make more. Crepe paper streamer will be helpful in making more loops as the material is quite flexible. As a result, your bow will attain a much fuller and decorative look.
-
The streamer's long tail ends needs to be placed near the bottom of the loops. In order to bring together the folded over streamer pieces, you must employ a narrow piece of clear tape to cover the streamer`s center center point. After this, you need to cut the length of the streamer a little more longer. This has to be done on the tails on the bow you've made. Once this done, the tape piece needs to be wrapped over the center point and tied back. This will allow the tails to hang suspended down with the others. You can also include additional tails to the bow by taping them to the back.
