In this article, you will see how to make an old looking paper airplane.

Steps

  1. Gather your materials, glue, tape, paper, water, food dyes (optional), colored pencils, paint, and other things of such.
  2. Soak it. Get your paper, printer or construction, does not matter, and soak it in water for a few seconds, take it out and lay it flat. Optional, add a few drops of yellow or brown/orange food dye to the water to make the paper look rustic if using printer or white paper.
  3. As it drys, flip it over every 30 - 45 seconds or so. while its drying, prepare your paint brushes and palette if using paint. If you cannot get your palette clean enough to use, or don't have one, a piece of cardboard or paper is fine.
  4. if not using paint, markers or pencils are fine.
  5. After your paper is dry, fold it into your typical paper airplane, then paint or color it normally. After the first coat, start the old process. Fade colors, and put brown spots on places to look like dirt. do this a few times until the desired old effect is achieved. Then tear off little bits of paper from the air plane, and get a paintbrush with water and make them wet slightly, then put a tiny bit of brown paint on it and rub it for a torn old dirty effect.
  6. Once it looks old and dirty, it's done! Go fly your paper airplane, or trick friends into thinking its a 1960's paper airplane from your grandparents or otherwise.

Warnings

  • Paint and food dye may stain hands, depending on brand.
  • Remember to bend the tip of the plane back or cut it off, you could poke someones eye out!
  • Never throw a paper airplane directly at someone's face
