Pinatas originated in Mexico, popping up at every fiesta they had. Simple pinatas made of a Styrofoam cup are easy to make and can be made as party favor holders.

Steps

  1. Outline the edge of the opening of the cup on a blank piece of paper and cut it out. Draw a face and any other decorations as desired on the cut out circle.
  2. On the cup, colour a design or pattern with lots of bright colours.
  3. Next, cut out two triangles and colour them.
  4. Fill up the pinata and glue or tape the circle with the face showing up on the cup.
  5. Tape/glue the ears on the pinata. If you used glue, wait for it to dry.
  6. Give the pinata to someone with a popsicle stick!

Tips

  • Tape does not look as good as glue does, but it's much simpler.
  • You can use crayons, pencil crayons, markers, or paint to decorate the pinata.

Warnings
