Making a papier mache volcano sounds fun and easy. And here's how to do it!
Steps
-
Begin by getting a small bottle like an Actimel drinking bottle (about 6cm high)
- Cut a square cardboard piece (25cm across, 25cm down) and stick the bottle bang on in the middle.
- Find lots of strips of newspaper.
- Stick the newspaper all the way round, starting from the top of the bottle and folding the newspaper inside the bottle. Then, you can get the shape of a volcano.
- Stick on anymore big chunks of newspaper, when the strips have dried. It does NOT have to be strips. Repeat this about 5 times (or until the volcano starts to get rock hard).
- When that has dried, you can paint it, black at the top then brown or grey, lastly green for grass at the bottom.
-
Your volcano is now ready to explode!!!!!!
Tips
- To make the grass more realistic, use dark and light green.
- To make the volcano look better, use both grey and brown.
- If you don't want to use traditional newspaper strips, you can get Rigid Wrap. It makes the process much easier!
Warnings
- Remember to use P.V.A glue or your volcano will not work!
