Get a large piece of thick white paper or poster board. You can purchase these things for cheap prices at places such as Walgreen's, Target, and Walmart in the crafting aisles. If you would like one in a different color, make sure the letters that you use will be visible from far away.
- Make the sign pop-able, or in other words, catch people's eye. You can do this by adding bright, neon colors that catch people's attention such as lime green, bright blue, or purple. You could add big stick on letters that are available at craft stores, or you could draw on your own letters with a large black marker.

Make sure the sign says what you want, and add pictures or special captions to show what it is. For example, if you are advertising it for a car wash, add a shiny, sparkling car along with the price. Sketch out your drawings or captions in pencil, then go over it with sharpie markers.
