When you buy something from the store, you can change something to make your outfits 'different'. Here are a few steps and tips to change your store bought clothes.
Steps
-
Find something you want to change.
-
Replace: a button, belt, string, or sash.
-
Add. Sew on a patch, stitch a design, add buttons.
-
Take Away. Pull off designs or cut holes.
-
Go Beyond. Safety pin fabric onto some jeans, superglue sparkly stones onto your shoes, or sew on some lace onto that boring black top.
Tips
- Shop with improvement already in mind.
- Keep it simple. Only 2 things from above on one item.
- Get creative. Use what's in your wardrobe to alter the new bought items.
- You don't need a sewing machine to do most of this so just use your hands.
Warnings
- Be careful with sharp objects, they can severely hurt or even kill you!
- Superglue can glue your fingers and eyelids together as well! Read here how to remove it.
- Sharpie is called permanent marker for a reason!
- Be sure of your choice before you start cutting your clothes. You only have one chance to do it right!
- Not everything will turn out perfect.
