My eldest son, Samuel is 11 and he races go karts. Over the last two years he has won multiple Honda Cadet Championships (including dozens of trophies!) and for 2015 he is stepping up to the next level in karting.

He has moved to the National Junior Easykart Championship for 11 to 16 year olds which is contested over 8 rounds across the UK. This will be a massive challenge for him as the karts are a lot heavier (requiring more stamina and strength) and are nearly 4 times more powerful than the Honda Cadet that he previously raced.

Having already shown that he is able to handle the 75mph machine at a test day at the Three Sisters race track in Wigan, Samuel completed his first race there in April and finished in a respectable 7th place.

As you can imagine it is not a cheap sport and all the cards I make using CuP sheets help to fund him! Photo of Samuel racing - his kart is number 92 - the white numbers on a black background denotes his rookie status).
