This is a DIY tutorial on how to make my Gingerbread House shape, convertible, frame pin ornament, a papercraft. It has a gingerbread man cookie, a marshmallow snowman, and my Merry Christmas "fabric font", simulated lengths of fabric, line art for letters, that I used for my own business logo for fabricatedframes.com . The "Merry Christmas" is like frosting piped for the sign above the door. This frame has the gingerbread man cookie on the strut leg on the back, too! It is a tabletop picture frame for a 1 1/2" by 2 1/2" photo, that can also hang as a tree ornament, only requiring a sheet of paper card stock, 2 lengths of ribbon: 1/8" by 2 feet, another 1" wide by 9" long, and adhesive! If you want it to be a convertible frame pin ornament, where the 1 1/4" long / 35 mm bar style brooch pin back, and the strut leg on the back are removable / interchangeable, you'll need a few inches of Velcro or hook & loop, and the pin back. There are 2 lengths of ribbon needed, and that's because the skinny ribbon is thread through 7 circles hole punched on panels 2 & 3, to make the inside photo pocket. The wider ribbon connects the strut leg to the easel back panel, for the frame to stand, at the bottom right corner of both. You can use a self laminating sheet to cover the paper if you want, to protect it, or print it onto washable inkjet fabric, backed with Therm o Web Ultrahold ironed to the back - Ultrahold helps the frame keep its shape, seals the holes, keeping them from fraying, and helps give stability to the frame, helping it stand. To help the strut leg bend, you can use any of the following, after the strut leg panels' outer flaps are folded under, but before they both are split apart, use: clear vinyl sheet protector page Ziploc bag felt fleece flannel - cut to the shape of the easel back, sandwiched between the top & bottom of both strut lg panels- it helps the strut leg bend for paper photo frames.
