News & Updates from Carol Clarke
….. it was a scary, spooky, frightening time we had this week! lol We had a house full of excitement for Halloween! lol Our youngest grandchildren, plus one if our older granddaughters, her partner and our great grandson here for the day!
The house was full of laughter and squeals! lol we (of course, had to do some crafting, and made ghostly danglies! followed by baking, decorating and eating Scary Halloween Eyeball Cupcake! lol Luckily the cakes tasted much nicer than the name of them suggests! lol
…. its half term we had a lovely day this week with three of our granddaughters Stephanie, and our great grandson, Noah!
Our youngest grandchildren, Olivia and Austin came for the day and of course we had to do some crafting (how could we not do crafting!), baking, play board games and go to the park etc etc etc!
Crafting was first on the list followed by baking, and then when the cookies had cooled, taking some to Stephanie.
As the weather played fair for once with lovely sunshine we even had a walk to the park too!
The Banana Oat Cookies we made were delicious …. and I was shattered by the end of the day, but had had a fabby time!!
….. funny photograph popped up in memories on my iPad this week! Its of my my youngest granddaughter Olivia at Clumber Park in June 2014 when she was 3 years old and met Milly the Moo Cow for the first time!
It never fails to make me laugh!! lol Olivia is now 13 and has grown into a lovely caring and sharing young lady!
… that time of year again when we get fog and mist, cold and wet days with frosty mornings but often have warm sun later in the day!
It plays havoc with choosing what to wear! lol.
Manys the time I set out for a walk wearing a woolly hat, thick jumper, coat and scarf and feel cold .. .. and then after a shortish time I end up far too warm and have to carry them! lol.
But these weather conditions are what make our Autumn soooo wonderful with spectacular displays of colourful Autumn leaves and a wonderful assortment of fungi!!
…. Youngest Grandchildren were competing once again this weekend. This time it was the North Nottinghamshire schools cross country competition. They were representing their respective schools and competing against children from other schools (most of the time they are representing Mansfield Harriers! lol) Olivia aged 13 won her race!
And Austin aged 8 was representing his school for the very 1st time and came 53rd out of over 80 starters!
I couldnt be prouder of them both. They ran sooo well! Olivia will now be going forward to represent Nottinghamshire at the next level!!
