I grew my first Indigo Blue tomatoes last year and fell in love with them. Besides tasting fantastic, they have a unique color. They arent really blue, but more purple or black in color as you can tell here.
They are supposed to have higher levels of anthocyanins which gives them their unique flavour. I have a few new varieties this year, Besides the Indigo Blue ones, I am trying Indigo Rose and a mini Indigo which I have forgotten the name.
Besides the color, I can recommend growing them as they are so yummy.
By the way to tell if they are ripe, their bottoms will turn red. That is when they are ready to pick and eat. So seek out the unusual varieties and give them a try. You might be pleasantly surprised.
This week on Thursday I will be having a procedure done. I have been on Kidney dialysis for the past year. They used a line in my chest that was inserted into my heart. This was a temporary line and was only to last about a year.
And so in January I had an op to put a fistula in my left arm. That had to mature before they could start using it. Well, they started using it in about April and I have had nothing but problems since. It is very painful as apparently I dont have nice straight veins that are close to the surface.
Instead mine are zigzagged and hide deep. So the nurses really struggle finding them to do the needling for dialysis.
So this Thursday(by the time you read this I will have had the procedure) they are going to do a procedure where they stick a wire in and a balloon to expand the vein and bring it closer to the surface.
It is all done as an outpatient, so hopefully no hospital stay. I am really hating staying in hospital. I hope this works as hopefully it will help with the pain and bruising that I experience three days a week when I have my dialysis.
I dont know why I have to be one of those weird Medical mystery types of people but I am.
Nothing ever seems to go to plan with me. So hopefully this will this time. So I may have a few days where I am unable to do some designs here. Doesnt mean I wont be checking in though. :) I am so addicted to CUP.
Last Friday was the big day for our Library. They have been going for 10 years now. Our knitting group started a year later. We were asked to contribute some items for display so I did the crocheted dolls.
I was given the dolls back and they will be going to a nursery so they will be played with by children.
On top of my designing this month I have been busy gardening and making more dolls for the Library celebration next month.
I have King Charles, Hungry Caterpillar, Mr. Happy, Mr. Bump, Jane Austin, Frankensteins Monster and Dracula.
Also along with these is the first doll I have done and a piece of cake a few donuts and a pair of handcuffs.
I am trying hard to do themes for the different shelves in the library. I still have a few more to do and the time seems to be running out on me. I have a flower garland yet to do and some book marks for the library to hand out.
Along with a policeman for the crime section. And a rose for the romance section. Will get there I hope. I do have also an appt with the surgeon this week about my arm for dialysis. That hasnt been going that well lately.
Big hugs to you all and thanks so very much for your patronage of my designs. xxxxx
I thought that since this is an important year for the Library and King Charles had his coronation that I would do a King Charles doll for the librarys celebration.
I have him reading a book in all his finery.
It has been a bit of a week at Dialysis and I really enjoyed coming home to work on my card designs and crocheting on the dolls.
I just wish I had more hands and I could do both at the same time.
